What is a vampire facial?

This is one question we get asked a lot. Whilst it sounds utterly terrifying, it’s actually one of the safest and most effective treatments on the market.

The term vampire facial refers to a treatment known as platelet-rich plasma therapy or PRP which uses your own blood to harness your body’s own healing abilities.

Loved by the Hollywood elite, including Kourtney Kardashian, the vampire facial is a non-surgical procedure designed to encourage skin renewal and unlock a more radiant and youthful complexion.

What Can a Vampire Facial Do?

As you age, naturally the skin loses its collagen and elasticity. The loss of these vital proteins can cause the skin to appear older, with more fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and a loss of volume.

A vampire facial rejuvenates the structure of the skin by using key components found within the blood to stimulate collagen and elastin production within the body. The treatment is highly effective and has been proven to help address several different skincare concerns, including:

• Uneven skin tone

• Darkness around the eyes

• Acne scarring

• Pore size

• Volume and plumpness

What happens during a vampire facial?

During a vampire facial, we will first extract some healthy blood from your arm, in the same way, you would undergo a regular blood test. Next, we place this blood into a special centrifuge to spin it and separate the key components, including platelets, growth factors, and plasma.

These substances are then carefully injected into the target area, using a specially designed micro-needling device. Once injected, your body will begin its natural healing process, and the platelets begin to stimulate weaker skin cells encouraging them to produce new collagen and elastin.

As a result, the skin instantly looks plumper and more youthful. However, as rejuvenation can take some time, you will continue to see results over a few weeks, and you will be left with a more youthful, brighter appearance. i

Vampire facials take less than an hour to perform, and because they use nothing but your own blood, there is little to no risk of any reactions or complications, making it one of the safest cosmetic procedures around.

A vampire facial is a non-surgical procedure, so you are fine to return to your straight afterward. Now, you may experience slight tenderness or bruising after the treatment, but this is natural and should begin to clear up within 1-4 days.
