fat dissolving injections

Naturally, we all have stubborn exercise-resistant pockets of fat and while they can be incredibly frustrating, they can also impact how we feel about ourselves. So, do fat-dissolving injections work?

In this blog, we will break down everything you need to know about fat injections, to help you decide if it’s the right solution to help you on your journey.

What are fat-dissolving injections?

Fat-dissolving injections or Injection lipolysis is simply a weight loss method used to combat small, and remove pockets of fat on the body.

They are based upon a substance known as Deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring secondary bile acid in the body. Deoxycholic acid works by targeting fat cells and breaking them open. This allows your lymphatic system to naturally eliminate the fatty substance inside the cell.

How do fat-dissolving injections work?

Although weight loss surgery is an option, it can be costly and it is highly invasive, which means it may not be a suitable solution for some people. Fat-dissolving injections are a non-surgical, low-risk alternative to surgery, meaning they are a lot more cost-effective and available to everybody.

Where can fat-dissolving injections be used?

Fat-dissolving injections are safe for use in several areas of the body, where we tend to carry excess fat. Now, they should never be considered as a full weight-loss solution, and they are not suitable for treating larger areas of fat – for this you may want to consider a body sculpting procedure.

Fat-dissolving injections can be used on:

• Abdominal fat

• Tummy fat

• Thighs (inner and outer)

• Love handles

• Knees

• Arms

• Armpits

• Waist

• Hips

• Buttocks

• Jowls

• Chin fat

• Back fat

What to expect from Treatment

Before your treatment, we will invite you in for a consultation. During this consultation, we will ask you some questions about your lifestyle and assess your excess fat to see if fat-dissolving injections would work for you.

It is worth noting that fat-dissolving injections may not be a suitable option if you suffer from any of the following conditions:

• Diabetes

• Liver or kidney disease

• Active skin problem in the area to be treated is present.

• On blood thinning medicine e.g warfarin.

Results

With fat-dissolving injections, you shouldn’t expect immediate results. The effects of Deoxycholic acid can take time. Typically, you should start to see results within a couple of weeks. That being said, once your body has eliminated your excess fat, the results are permanent (unless you gain weight).
