Hyaluronic acid fillers are one of the leading aesthetic treatments on the market today. Designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dermal fillers and Hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary treatments that provide instant results for up to one year.

What are they?

Put simply, Hyaluronic acid fillers are a type of dermal filler that utilises Hyaluronic Acid (HA) to smooth fine lines and wrinkles and restore volume to the face.

Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant that is produced naturally within the human body. With its unique ability to draw moisture from the air and hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, it helps the skin to retain its moisture, glow, and radiance.

What can they be used for?

Dermal fillers and HA fillers can be used to target and reduce fine lines, restore lost volume to the face, and redefine your features, for a more youthful look.

Here are some of the things dermal fillers, or HA fillers can be used to treat:

• Smoothing lines and wrinkles

• Even skin tone, and reduce the appearance of scarring

• Nose reshaping

• Reshape, and add volume to the lips

• Restore cheek volume

• Reduce smile lines

• Fill Marionette Lines

Here at Ness Aesthetics, we also use Hyaluronic Acid within our Mesotherapy treatments for an added boost. Mesotherapy is a series of micro-fine injections into the superficial skin layers to give it all the essential, skin-loving nutrients it needs to stay hydrated, nourished, healthy, and radiant.

What to expect

Dermal fillers are completely non-invasive and take around 30 minutes to complete. The procedure is rather comfortable for most patients, but during your appointment, your aesthetician will numb the injection site if required.

Following your procedure, you can expect some minor side effects that should clear up by themselves within 5 days. These side-effects include:

• Swelling

• Redness

• Bruising

• Tenderness around the injection site

To avoid the risk of complications, following your treatment we advise you to take it easy and avoid any strenuous activity for up to 48 hours to ensure everything heals as it should. Here are some tips to follow, after your treatment.

• Avoid exercise

• Stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol

• Avoid skincare and make-up

• Avoid extreme temperatures
